I would like to point out several things: 1. Luke Talley is awesome. 2. Every single frame of this video requires more memory storage than this memory module is capable of handling. Think about that. 3. On the second channel we talk about things like how they took into account gyroscopic precession with this bad boy. They also crashed this into the moon and used the signal as a way to figure out what the inside of the moon is like. It's a good video, you should consider watching it. ( https://youtu.be/6mMK6iSZsAs ) 4. This is not the Apollo computer. This is the Saturn V computer. They're different. This steered the rocket. 5. People that support Smarter Every Day on Patreon are really cool and I like them a lot. ( https://www.patreon.com/smartereveryday )

Even after quite some research and technical understanding It still bends my mind how they managed to pull something off like the apollo program in the sixties..
پیش 2 ماهSue Kennedy
Too bad there is no video showing the inside of the LEM during ascent and descent. It was too hard to fake so they did not bother to make such a video. Nobody landed on the moon.

Polish translation of the title sucks Should be "sterowała" not "sterowało" – typo "Mądrzejszy Każdego Dnia" – "SmarterEveryDay" means quite the opposite because it is ironic. Should be "Bądz Bystrzejszy Każdego Dnia" or "Każdego Dnia Bystrzejszy" or even "Codziennie Bystrzejszy"

As this can be 4K, that means, 4096 * 2160 * 3 (each RGB value needs one byte per colour) = 26,542,080 bytes. That is about 26 megabytes per frame..

Its too bad that the telemetry data was lost, all 14000 wheels!!! And that we can't go beyond the radiation belt today, I guess they were lucky back then They are so smart that their miraculous propulsion system can work in a vacuum, debunking Newton's third law of motion, isn't that awesome? And what about the real time communication with the president that we can't do even today because the path loss of signal is invert squared and it would require a dozen nuclear power plants to send the signal, imagine how smart they were to do it on a small generator of the space module, that little module could power half of the united states! It is a shame that the technology was lost and we can't recover it because it is too pricey, despite the daily 50 million dollars budget. Fun fact, the Bermuda triangle is right below where the space shuttles go beyond low earth orbit, what a coincidence that nobody goes there, I suppose it is a good thing so in case of accident the spaceship does not fall on anybody. I hope they can figure out how to see the lunar rover and the flag with a space telescope that can see in the far deep space but not in the neighbor moon. Thanks SmarterEveryDay, I feel smarter already.

Someone should tell Linus that whenever he reads data from the DRAM of a conventional computer, that also destroys the data in the DRAM cells, requiring a subsequent write to restore the data. (Actually, any read wipes out the data in 1000s of cells, requiring them to be written back, but maybe we should keep that from him. And anyway, the DRAM does it internally.) [Special shout out to my really-old buddy, a pioneer in the computer-memory business.]

They steered it by using television… They also used the power it took by using television And when they built the international space station… They used television. Since all of this is a bunch of television…It is as real as Gilligan’s Island. NASA is the Star Trek station. I think Star Trek is more realistic though.

پیش ماهJONNIE TRUTH
@Nandana Lakshmi My mom told me never to believe anything coming from the idiot box… And where is all the stuff coming from? That’s right the idiot box. NASA brings a dune buggy up to the moon to drive around in the 1960s California surfing 🏄♀️ time. Forget that it is a useless machine up there . The astronauts are hanging upside down on springs when videoed for the cameras on the International space station. Then they add some kind of special effect. Did you ever see the video of the fake astronauts hanging from wires? And where is their hardhat ? One mistake flying around that spaceship and they are wounded in the head. No chance would they allow a non-helmeted person floating around. Doing somersaults in space. You’re dreaming. And no I protection also… Whatever… Keep dreaming

So what he was saying about the more modules means more chance of unreliabilty and something going wron. A bit like the difference between a model T ford and a Mercedes or BMW with all the complexities built into them. Fom wathching the longer version its fairly clear that they wer very much built to a budget with a very narrow margin for error . wonder if the astronauts knew that ?, probably not )))
